ONTARIO, Oregon — The Linn-Benton volleyball team defeated Everett Community College 3-1 on Saturday, Nov. 15, in match one of the NWAC Championship East Regional on the campus of Treasure Valley Community College.
The Roadrunners (23-6, 13-3 NWAC South) started strong, taking the first set 25-12. The Trojans (12-19, 7-5 NWAC North) settled in during the second set, securing a 25-23 victory to even the match at one set apiece.
Linn-Benton responded with a 25-17 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 sets advantage and pulled away late in the fourth set to win 25-18 and advance to Sunday’s match four of the East Regional.
With the win, the Roadrunners will now play the winner of the Treasure Valley and Tacoma match. That match is scheduled for a 9 a.m. first serve on Sunday, Nov. 16, and will determine the number one seed out of the East Region. The top two teams from the regional will move onto the NWAC Volleyball Championship Elite 8 in Pasco, Washington.
