Lileanna Johnson was named the new student president of the Linn-Benton Student Leadership Council by the SLC on Tuesday, Feb. 18 after winning the student vote. Phoebe Denbo was named the vice president.
Johnson and Denbo, who will begin their roles in April, will succeed current President Travis Overvig and Vice President Garrett Merchant, respectively.
The SLC wrote the following in its Instagram announcement:
Lileanna Johnson, a current SLC Intern, has been shadowing all positions on the SLC this year and chose running for president as her next role! You voted and now Lil is the NEW SLC President for the April 2025-April 2026 leadership team cycle. You go, girl.
Our new VP, Phoebe Denbo, is also a current SLC Intern that has taken leadership head on by planning events and shadowing all positions on the team.
We are very proud of you both for showing fierce and inspiring leadership on the LBCC campus this last year, and we are excited to see you thrive in your new positions!
Even though the president and vice president announcements have been decided by vote, the remaining SLC positions will be decided by interview. Applications are due Feb. 21.
