LBCC Thanksgiving Food Drive Is Here

The 2025 Employees and Friends of LBCC Thanksgiving Food Drive is here!

According to the Basic Needs Oregon Student Feedback Toolkit, college students across Oregon continue to experience high rates of insecurity related to basic needs. Research shows that food insecurity affects up to one in three community-college students and is closely linked to mental-health challenges and lower academic performance.

In our region, Linn County’s food-insecurity rate is approximately 13–14%, and Benton County’s is nearly 15% — both higher than the statewide average. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our LBCC students and colleagues who may be struggling to afford groceries this holiday season.

Our goal is to help as many students and staff as possible. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown and the pending suspension of SNAP benefits beginning in November, many individuals, including our most vulnerable students and staff, may be left without reliable access to food.

One hundred percent of all funds raised go directly to providing grocery gift cards for LBCC students and employees. The gift-card amount will depend on family size and total funds raised.

Thank you to the LBCC Foundation Office for partnering with us to make donating easy!

Donate Now via Debit/Credit Card

The online donation form is quick and simple. Your gift goes directly to the LBCC Thanksgiving Food Drive, and you’ll automatically receive a tax-deduction receipt for your contribution.

We encourage everyone to submit donations electronically — there are no fees, so every dollar you give supports the drive! If you prefer to donate by cash or check, contact Carol Raymundo at raymundo@linnbenton.edu.

Please submit donations by Thursday, Nov. 20, so we have time to order and distribute the gift cards before Thanksgiving.

Please refer any student or employee who could use a little extra help this season. Eligible students must be registered for at least one LBCC class (credit or non-credit).

A flyer with a QR code is attached, and an informational email will go out to ALL currently enrolled students next week. Everyone who makes a request will be sent a copy of their request form that includes pick-up dates and locations. Additionally, our committee communicates directly with everyone as the pickup date nears.

We appreciate your continued generosity and support in this annual tradition of giving.
