The preseason NWAC coaches’ poll ranked LBCC baseball third in the conference as of February 13.
In the poll, the Beaks received 105 points, 10 less than second-place Tacoma and 20 less than first-place and defending champions Lower Columbia. The Beaks received one first-place vote.
Linn-Benton was ranked sixth in the NWAC at the end of the 2023 season. Their new ranking marks a three-place jump for the Beaks as the team enters the 2024 season.
Lane and Umpqua, ranked sixth and tenth respectively, were the only other NWAC South teams to place in the top 10. The full rankings can be found on the NWAC’s website here.
The Beaks will open their 2024 regular season against Columbia Basin on the road Saturday, February 17 at 11 a.m.
