Some life will be coming to Linn-Benton’s otherwise quiet Albany campus this summer, with the local Boys & Girls Club hosting “Hoop Jam,” a community 3-on-3 basketball tournament, in the college’s parking lot August 10-11.
Per the Boys & Girls Club’s website, over 3,000 participants and families are expected to attend. The event will include 3-on-3 tournaments for multiple age groups and skill levels, as well as skills competitions with prizes. Registration for the tournament closed July 31, but the competitions are open to enter and there will be plenty to watch.
With the event drawing a large crowd and setup, a school-wide announcement warned that campus parking will be impacted August 5-12. Additionally, the north entrance to the Albany campus from Ellingson Road will be closed, as will the south entrance onto West Way.
Visit Hoop Jam’s website here for a full schedule and more information.
