We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to share that our beloved colleague, Matt Dubanoski, died on Nov. 7, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Matt was a graduate of the of the LBCC automotive technician program and as a student he competed in the state Skills USA competition, where he finished in first place, and scored 10th
nationally.
He went on to work for Benton County Public Works for a few years before returning to LB’s auto program as an instructional specialist and finally as an instructor. Matt’s automotive talent, attention to detail and technological understanding of computer platforms made him stand out as an instructor. His willingness to share with his peers everything that he generated is a complement of his character and generosity.
Matt’s contributions to his colleagues, his students, and the automotive program along with his kind heart and huge smile can never be forgotten. Our hearts and our prayers go to his family and those that worked closely with Matt.
Editor’s note: This tribute was provided by LBCC’s Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation Technology Division.
