The top-ranked Linn-Benton women’s volleyball team won road games against Clark and Lane last week, securing an undefeated regular season with the playoffs just around the corner.

On November 1, the Beaks traveled to Vancouver, Washington to take on the 10-15 Clark Penguins. LBCC dominated the match, winning 3-0 with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-14 in the three sets.

Sophomore Grace Boeder led the Beaks with 12 points and 10 kills. Freshman Maddy Hellem wasn’t far behind with 11.5 points and 11 points. Defensively, freshmen Kinsey Brelage and Meah Carley led LBCC with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

After the win, the Beaks advanced to 30-0 on the season.

Just two days later, on November 3, Linn-Benton was on the road once again to take on the 14-6 Lane Titans in Eugene, Oregon. The Titans, the third-ranked team in the NWAC South, won the first set against the Roadrunners with a score of 29-27, but LBCC retaliated. The Beaks won the next three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-9, and 25-21.

With the win, Linn-Benton finished their regular season at 31-0. To go along with their undefeated record, the Roadrunners finish the regular season with an NWAC South title and hosting honors for the regional round of the playoffs.

Roadrunners Prepare for Playoffs

Linn-Benton volleyball’s next match will be a playoff game. The Beaks will be hosting South Puget Sound Community College on Saturday, November 11 at 1 p.m. in the NWAC South Bracket. With a win, the Beaks would advance to the next round of the tournament to face the winner of Yakima Valley vs. Edmonds. With a loss, the Beaks would face the loser of that matchup as the regionals are double-elimination.

South Puget Sound currently sits at 11-13 on the season with a 6-6 conference record.
