Roadrunners Split Series With Lane

Linn-Benton split four Northwest Athletic Conference baseball games with South Region opponent Lane.

The Roadrunners won 6-1 and 7-5 Thursday, March 30, after losing 7-3 and 3-1 on March 29. Due to weather, all four games were played on the Albany campus.

In Thursday’s 6-1 victory, West Albany alum Chase Reynolds allowed 7 hits, 1 unearned run and 1 walk with 4 strikeouts in his 8-inning start. Sweet Home grad Russell Holly pitched a scoreless ninth with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.

LB’s Cole Cramer and Titus Dumitru both had 2 hits. Cramer had 1 RBI and Dumitru walked twice.

In the seven-inning nightcap, all 5 runs scored against Roadrunners starter Dylan Rush in his complete-game 6-hitter were unearned. The Roadrunners committed 3 errors to Lane’s 4.

Rush gave up no walks and struck out 5 batters.

Aiden Dougherty had 3 hits and 2 RBI; Vincent Iwamura had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Trey Nelson recorded 2 hits and 1 RBI.

On Saturday, April 8, the Roadrunners split a pair of games vs. Mt. Hood in Portland. Linn-Benton prevailed 5-0 in the opener, before dropping game two 5-1.

Linn-Benton next takes on Chemeketa on Thursday, April 13. First pitch on the Albany campus is at 1 p.m.
