Tacoma Knocks LBCC Men from NWAC Playoffs, 76-69

PASCO, Washington – The Tacoma Titans got 30 points from Jake TenBerge to help them defeat the Linn-Benton Roadrunners 76-69 in the Sweet 16 of the NWAC Men’s Basketball Championship on Saturday, March 11, at Columbia Basin College.

TenBerge had a big first half of 22 points where he made 5-of-7 three-pointers to give the Titans a 10-point advantage at halftime. Tacoma then was able to rely on its tough defense and ball possession to keep the Roadrunners from making a comeback. TenBerge finished with 30 points and 5 rebounds, knocking down 7 triples.

The third-seeded Titans (12-14, 9-5 West) utilized their tough perimeter defense to hold the Roadrunners to 3-for-21 for the game, including 0-for-6 on three-pointers in the second half. The Roadrunners did a good job of getting to the line in the second half, however, as they made 17-of-20 free throws down the stretch.

Roman Lewis added 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Titans. Parker Androy finished with 11 points and 5 boards off the bench.

The second-seeded Roadrunners were led by TJ Zimmermann, who had 16 points and 8 rebounds. Ayden Foster picked up 11 points with 5 rebounds.

The Titans moved onto the Elite Eight on Sunday, where they took on No. 4-seed Bellevue at 4 p.m.
