Roadrunners Take Flight Against Penguins

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Linn-Benton Volleyball team defeated Clark Community College 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
THE MATCH
The Roadrunners improved to 20-1 on the season, and 7-0 in the NWAC South Region. The Penguins fell to 9-9 on the season, and 3-4 in the NWAC South Region.
In a battle of flightless birds, the Roadrunners still appeared to defy gravity with 40 kills in the match. In the first set the Roadrunners defeated the Penguins 25-15. The Roadrunners had 12 kills in the first set.
The Roadrunners took the second and third sets 25-17 and 25-19. Roadrunner Taya Manibusan once again led the offensive charge with 11 kills on 23 attempts. Manibusan was awarded NWAC Offensive Player of the Week in the previous week.
HISTORY
The win locks in the Roadrunners’ 11th consecutive 20-win season (excluding the shortened COVID-19 season). Roadrunners Head Coach Jayme Frazier now has 644 wins in her career, and a chance to break the 650 mark by the end of the regular season.
NEXT UP
The Roadrunners travel to take on Lane Community College on Friday, Oct. 7, in a highly anticipated top-10 matchup. The Roadrunners come into the match ranked #1 in the NWAC, while the Titans come in ranked #4. The match will be played at 4000 E 30th Ave. in Eugene.
