The Philomath High School girls and Cascade High School boys basketball teams both won their 4A state basketball championship games on March 12 at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. Both teams are in the Oregon West Conference, which is considered one of the most competitive leagues in 4A sports. This was Philomath’s first championship since 2000 and Cascade’s first since 1974.
