Three Games to Freak You Out

Doom 3

“Doom 3” is, for the most part, a fairly standard first person shooter. What makes this game absolutely terrifying is the unpredictability of its enemies. They come sliding out of walls, breaking down doors, and demolishing staircases all to kill the player. This combined with limited ammo and health makes for a terrifying experience.

I’m Scared: A Pixelated Nightmare

“I’m Scared” is a free game that can be found on Gamejolt. It’s less of a game and more of a nightmare simulator. The whole game is spent being chased by a terrifying white face as it leaves files on your computer to help you unravel the mystery. While it is lacking in the technical aspect, this is a great, terrifying game that is absolutely free.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4

Normally, I wouldn’t recommend any games out of this series, but “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” hit just the right spot in terms of horror games. The game has the player lean out into dark hallways, listening for any noises. The only thing separating the player from certain death is a small wooden door. The game boils down to nothing more than a time management simulator after a while, but the eerie visuals keep the game feeling scary for hours at a time.
